That combination gives it the dry crack, strong midrange and clear note separation bluegrass players expect, and the 14" mahogany resonator adds warmth and push without muddying the attack.

Rolls come out crisp and even, and the banjo has the volume to take a lead break over a full band or drive backup in a jam. The mahogany neck has a comfortable, familiar profile, the ebony fingerboard feels quick under the left hand, and the 1-1/4" bone nut keeps Scruggs-style picking and melodic runs right where you expect them. At about 13 pounds it carries the mass that gives a flathead its punch.

The Golden Sunburst finish, Gold Tone bowtie inlays and cream binding give the OB-2 a classic look, and the Presto tailpiece, notched tension hoop, 5/8" Mastertone bridge and Gotoh planetary tuners keep the hardware dependable. It ships with a Gold Tone hard case. For players who want authentic flathead bluegrass tone without paying vintage prices, the OB-2 Bowtie keeps up as your right hand gets stronger.

Serial #22610430 — this listing is for the exact instrument shown in the photos above.

SPECS
Model: OB-2
Banjo Style: Resonator
String Count: 5
String Type: Steel
Neck Wood: Mahogany
Truss Rod: Two-Way Adjustable
Fingerboard Material: Ebony
Fingerboard Inlay: Gold Tone Bowtie
Number of Frets: 22
Nut Material: Bone
Nut Width: 1-1/4"
Scale Length: 26-3/16"
Tuners: Gotoh Planetary
Rim: 3-Ply Maple
Rim Diameter: 11"
Tone Ring: 11" Flat Top - 19 Hole - Bell Brass
Head Material: 11" Remo HC Coated, Topside
Tension Hoop: 11" Notched
Hooks & Nuts: 24 Brackets
Flange: One Piece Cast
Armrest: Fits All GT Plain
Bridge: 5/8" Mastertone
Tailpiece: Presto
Hardware Color: Nickel
Binding: Cream ABS
Resonator Wood: Mahogany
Resonator Diameter: 14"
Color/Appearance: Golden Sunburst
Weight: 13 lbs.
Strings Included: .009, .022w, .013, .011, .009 (GDGBD Tuning)
Case / Gig Bag: Gold Tone Hard Case
Warranty: Limited Lifetime
Left-/Right-Handed: Right-Handed

Why Choose The Acoustic Shoppe?
When you choose to purchase from us, you're not just making a transaction; you're investing in an exceptional experience.
