Left-Handed Guitars

Every guitar on this page was built left-handed at the factory, with the nut, saddle and pickguard made for a left-handed player, so you aren't settling for a right-handed guitar that's been restrung. Most of the left-handed guitars we sell are Eastman, like the E1DL and E20DL-TC dreadnoughts and the AC222LCE and AC422LCE grand auditorium cutaways, and we've also had left-handed versions of the Martin OO-18 Joe Bonamassa, the Alvarez Laureate LF70Le and the Yamaha FG820L. They come and go quickly, so if you don't see the one you want, ask us what's on the way.

If the guitar you want isn't here, we can usually order it left-handed. This year we've special-ordered left-handed guitars from Taylor, Maton and Alvarez for players who couldn't find them anywhere else, and we'll confirm the price and the maker's lead time with you before anything is ordered.

Choosing a left-handed acoustic guitar

Two Eastman grand auditorium cutaways show how the price ladder works for lefties. The AC222LCE pairs a solid Sitka spruce top with ovangkol back and sides and a Fishman pickup at $899, which makes it a good first serious guitar or a stage backup. The AC422LCE moves up to rosewood back and sides and an LR Baggs pickup at $1,569, and because it's over $1,000 it ships under our Dread-Not Guarantee: a 30-day in-home trial and a one-year trade-in credit of up to 90%.

Every guitar we sell gets our 23-Point Professional Inspection before it ships, left-handed or not. If you'd rather start with a mandolin, see our left-handed mandolins, or browse the full range of acoustic guitars and ask us whether the model you like is built left-handed.
