Taylor Accessories & Care
Taylor builds its accessories to the same tolerances as its guitars, and it shows in the places that matter. The capos use a machined spring tension calibrated for Taylor's neck profiles — enough clamping force to fret cleanly at the 5th, not so much that it pulls your open chords sharp. That's the difference between a capo you fight and one you forget is there.
Care Products
The polish, satin cleaner, and fretboard conditioner are formulated around finish type, which is the detail most players get wrong. Gloss polish on a satin neck will burnish it to a shine you can't undo. Taylor separates the two on purpose: the Satin Guitar Cleaner lifts oils without cutting the finish, and the Gloss Finish polish restores depth on gloss tops and backs. The Fretboard Conditioner is a light-penetration oil meant for once or twice a year — enough to keep ebony from checking in dry winter air, not enough to soften the board.
The Essentials Pack bundles the polish, cloth, and conditioner. If you own one Taylor and want the right products without thinking about it, that is the one to buy.
Straps and Picks
The 2.5" embroidered suede straps distribute weight across a wider span than a standard 2" strap, which matters on a long set with a Grand Orchestra or an 800 Series dread. The Element straps in distressed leather break in fast and take on the shape of your shoulder within a few months.
Taylor's DarkTone Ivoroid 351 picks come in four gauges from 0.46mm to 1.21mm. The thin gauges give you strum compression and a softer attack for accompaniment; the 1.21mm holds its edge for single-note work and crosspicking without flexing away your volume.
Wall Hangers
The ebony and inlaid hangers use a padded yoke that self-adjusts to neck width, so a Baby Taylor and a Builder's Edition both hang without pressure points on the finish. A guitar on the wall gets played. A guitar in a case gets remembered.
