The Taylor Gold Label 717e SB is built on Taylor's Grand Pacific body — a rounder-shouldered, deep-bodied shape designed to sit closer to a vintage dreadnought than Taylor's traditional Grand Auditorium — paired with solid Indian rosewood back and sides under a Shaded Edgeburst top.

The Grand Pacific's rounder shoulders and deep body add warmth and low-end depth that a standard dreadnought doesn't have, and the rosewood back and sides bring a wider overtone spread and more sparkle on top than the mahogany-bodied Gold Label models. Fanned V-Class bracing with a Tonal Rout keeps all of that low-end depth controlled — strummed chords stay full without turning boomy, and the extra headroom gives the guitar room to open up under a hard strum.

West African ebony covers the fingerboard, headstock veneer, and truss rod cover, and a Firestripe pickguard plays off the Shaded Edgeburst top. An L.R.
