Taylor designed V-Class bracing for longer sustain and truer intonation up the neck than traditional X-bracing. On this model it's fanned and has a Tonal Rout, which Taylor says dials up warmth and power. Taylor also torrefies the Sitka top, a heat treatment it uses for the depth and warmth of an older guitar.
The neck is Taylor's Standard Carve, with a 1-3/4" TUSQ nut, a 15" radius and a 25-1/2" scale. That gives a flatpick room between the strings and enough tension to dig in on rhythm. Taylor fitted it with LR Baggs Anthem SL electronics, Trey's preference. The Anthem blends an internal microphone with an under-saddle pickup, so on stage it sounds more like the guitar in the room than a pickup by itself does. For comparison, the Gold Label 710e dreadnought uses an LR Baggs Element VTC.
The fingerboard, its binding, the headstock veneer and the truss rod cover are West African Crelicam ebony, with cream crest inlays, a cream and black rosette, and an Antique Blonde gloss top.
