A solid Sitka spruce top pairs with solid neo-tropical mahogany back and sides, giving the guitar a drier, more focused low end than a typical rosewood dread while still pushing serious volume.

Taylor's fanned V-Class bracing with a Tonal Rout is doing a lot of the work here — it tightens up the sustain and keeps the mahogany from getting boomy, so single-note runs stay clear even when you're flatpicking hard.
