Atkin Custom J43 Baked Sitka/Mahogany Aged Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar #4613

The Atkin J43 is all about that old soul sound and feel, built for players who want a slope shoulder that already feels like it has lived a long musical life. The baked Sitka spruce top delivers a dry, open response right out of the gate, while the mahogany back and sides keep the tone focused and woody. It has that round shouldered warmth with a quick, punchy attack that works beautifully for strumming, flatpicking, and roots driven playing.

The shorter 24.9 inch scale gives the J43 a relaxed, slinky feel under the fingers, and the 45mm (1 3/4") nut adds a little extra room for fingerstyle playing and clean chord voicings. The mahogany neck has a comfortable, familiar shape, the rosewood fingerboard and bridge add clarity and snap, and a cut through saddle gives the attack a direct, vintage edge. Scalloped X bracing helps the top move freely, so the guitar responds immediately whether you play softly or lean into it.

Atkin's aged nitro finish gives it the look and feel of a well loved vintage instrument without trying too hard. This is the kind of guitar that inspires you to play a little looser and a little more honestly, and it sounds as good backing a singer as it does on its own. It comes ready to go in a quality hardshell case.
