Description
The Downeast Slope D Launch Edition is a slope-shoulder dreadnought with an Aged Tone Sitka spruce top over English walnut back and sides. Bourgeois places walnut between mahogany and rosewood, with a focused low end and clear mids.
Dana Bourgeois personally voiced the Launch Edition guitars. The neck is mahogany with a soft V profile, a 1 23/32 inch bone nut and a 25.5 inch scale. The fingerboard and bridge are ziricote, the fingerboard has a 12 inch radius, and the neck joins the body at the 14th fret.
Hand-carved scalloped X bracing, ivoroid binding and a hardshell case come with it. It suits players who want a slope-shoulder dreadnought with a walnut voice that is neither mahogany nor rosewood. A 1 23/32 inch nut is narrower than a 1 3/4 inch nut, so players who want the widest string spacing should play one before buying.
Serial #6217 — this listing is for the exact instrument shown in the photos above.
