The Deering Boston 6-String Acoustic/Electric gives guitar players a true resonator banjo voice without asking them to learn a new instrument. A nickel-plated 3/16" steel rim under an 11" frosted head supplies the bright, immediate snap, and the 3-ply poplar and mahogany resonator pushes that sound forward so it carries across a room or a jam circle.

It tunes E, A, D, G, B, E, so every chord shape and flatpicking run you already know transfers straight over. Chords come out with that unmistakable banjo edge, but the two bass strings fill in the bottom end, so it sounds fuller and rounder than a standard 5-string. The slender D neck, 1 3/4" nut width and radiused ebony fingerboard feel like home to a guitar player, and the guitar-style tuners keep tuning familiar for country rhythm, bluegrass backup or singer-songwriter strumming.
