Description
The sheer dynamic range and articulate acoustic response engineered into this all-solid Grand Auditorium make it an absolute swiss-army knife for modern performers. Eastman anchored this 16-inch body around a solid Sitka spruce top driven by hand-scalloped X-bracing, backing it with solid rosewood back and sides. This tonewood pairing generates a deep, blooming bass response, a clear, open midrange, and shimmering, bell-like trebles that ring out with incredible sustain. The balanced body proportions prevent any unwanted low-end boominess, making it just as capable of handling aggressive, loud strumming as it is delicate, intricate fingerstyle arrangements.
Visually, the instrument exudes an elevated, traditional elegance with custom-tier visual accents. The entire body is dressed in a crystal-clear gloss finish that showcases the tight grain of the spruce top and the rich, dark chocolate tones of the solid rosewood. Crisp ivoroid binding outlines the top, back, and dark ebony fingerboard, creating a sharp boundary that frames the silhouette beautifully. Beyond the classic pearl dot fretboard markers, Eastman set this model apart with an intricate pearl "Fortissimo" inlay at the 7th and 12th frets, perfectly paired with a tortoise shell pickguard, nickel Ping tuners, and a mother-of-pearl logo on the peghead.
In the hands, it behaves with total, fluid playability across the entire fretboard. The solid mahogany neck is carved to a familiar traditional even "C" profile, leading up to a 12-inch radius ebony fingerboard and a player-preferred 1 3/4-inch bone nut for comfortable string separation. A smooth Venetian cutaway grants your fretting hand weightless physical access up to the 20th Jescar fret, while factory-calibrated action ensures zero fight down the 25.4-inch scale length. When it is time to plug in for a gig or session, the factory-installed LR Baggs Element EAS VTC system translates the guitar's natural acoustic voice directly into an amp or PA with total warmth and fidelity. Complete with a rugged hardshell case, the AC422CE is a specialized, all-solid workhorse built for serious players.
