Description

The Eastman E20D-TC pairs a thermo-cured Adirondack spruce top with solid rosewood back and sides, baking the top wood to mimic the open, broken-in voice of a pre-war vintage dreadnought before a single string goes on it. That aged top meets rosewood's deep low end and shimmering overtones for a dreadnought with real headroom right out of the case.

Hand-carved scalloped X bracing lets the thermo-cured top move freely, so chords sound massive and cohesive while individual notes stay distinct — the combination flatpickers chasing a cutting, articulate bluegrass tone actually want. The mahogany neck's traditional even C profile, ebony fingerboard, and 1 3/4-inch bone nut give your fretting hand room to work, and Gotoh open-gear tuners keep pitch locked in through aggressive strumming.

Herringbone binding and abalone snowflake inlays dress the ebony fingerboard in period-correct style, while a tortoise pickguard and gloss finish complete the vintage look. Set up with factory action at 3/32 inch on the bass side and 2/32 inch on the treble side at the 12th fret and shipped in a hardshell case, the E20D-TC is ready for the flatpicker who wants vintage maturity without waiting decades for a top to open up.
