Mahogany back and sides keep the tone centered in the midrange rather than spreading into a big, boomy low end, so flatpicked runs stay clear and vocal-forward instead of muddy. The heat-treated top adds headroom and an open, worn-in character on top of that focus, giving chords a fast decay that separates cleanly note to note. It holds a lead vocal or a mandolin break in a jam without getting buried, and it responds well to a hard flatpick attack without breaking up.

A solid mahogany neck carved to a traditional even C profile pairs with an ebony fingerboard and a 1 3/4 inch bone nut, spacing strings wide enough for clean separation on both fingerstyle and flatpicked passages. Scalloped X-bracing lets the top move freely, Gotoh open-gear tuners hold tuning through a set, and factory-low action keeps the guitar comfortable without buzzing.
