Description
The Eastman MD815 pairs a solid Adirondack spruce top with solid flamed maple back and sides in a classic F-style body, built for bluegrass pickers who need clarity and volume to cut through a jam. Adirondack spruce brings more headroom and a brighter top end than the standard spruce found on Eastman's entry-level mandolins, giving the MD815 extra projection when it's dug into.
Chop chords snap with a percussive bark and single-note breaks stay articulate even at speed, exactly what bluegrass rhythm and lead playing demands from an F-style mandolin. The maple neck's ebony fingerboard, 12-inch radius, and pearl dot inlays make fast position changes and rolls feel natural, and a compensated ebony bridge helps intonation stay accurate across all four courses.
Ivoroid binding on the top, back, fingerboard, and headstock, along with a pearl flower pot headstock logo, give it a traditional look, and nickel Gotoh tuners keep it in tune through aggressive chop playing. For bluegrass pickers searching for real Adirondack spruce projection in a gig-ready F-style mandolin, the MD815 is built to keep up.
