Description
This Custom Shop dreadnought is an HD-28-inspired D with an Adirondack spruce top and Adirondack bracing over wild grain East Indian rosewood back and sides, and we selected the wood for it. Adirondack spruce brings punch and articulation, the wild grain rosewood adds complexity and a deep low end, and together they give the guitar the headroom and projection to anchor a band or fill a room on its own, which rewards hard flatpicking and strong strumming.
It has Style 28 appointments with a Style 28 Boltaron rosette, antique white binding, diamonds and squares long inlays and a GE Modern Belly bridge, finished in an Aging Toner top with a gloss body and satin neck for a broken-in feel. The neck is a GE Modified Low Oval with the High Performance Taper, and the guitar ships strung with medium gauge Authentic Acoustic Lifespan 2.0 strings in a molded hardshell case. We would point it at flatpickers and rhythm players who want a traditional rosewood dreadnought with Adirondack power.
