Description
Martin Retro strings use Monel wrap wire, a nickel-copper alloy that Martin says resists corrosion naturally. Martin also says the alloy softens pick attack so the guitar's own tonewoods come through, and that the strings last longer and work well plugged in.
This is the Medium-Light set, sold as LJ's Choice, .013 to .056 at 175.5 total tension. Next to the Medium set (MM13), the G, D and A strings are thinner (.024, .032 and .042 against .026, .035 and .045), which takes about 15 points off the tension. We carry it for players who like Medium outer strings but want a set that frets easier.
