This is a huge milestone for our friends over at Maton. To celebrate eight decades of building world-class instruments, they have released this 80th Anniversary model available in both the punchy 808 and the powerful Dreadnought body styles. The wood selection here is top-tier, featuring a AAA Engelmann Spruce face paired with Fijian Mahogany back and sides. It is a combination that offers a very refined and sweet tonal character, but with enough "snap" from that figured Queensland Maple neck to ensure you never get lost in a mix.

When you sit down with one of these, the first thing you are going to notice is how much care went into the "vintage" feel of the build. They have used a Nitrocellulose finish on both the top and the body, which allows the wood to vibrate more naturally and will only look better as the guitar ages. The playability is exactly what we have come to expect from Maton, featuring a comfortable 12-inch radius rosewood fingerboard and a bone nut and saddle for maximum energy transfer. Whether you choose the smaller 808 for its focused intimacy or the Dreadnought for that classic big-body projection, the scalloped X-bracing ensures the guitar is incredibly responsive to your touch.

Of course, it wouldn't be a premium Maton without the AP5 PRO pickup system, giving you a plugged-in sound that actually sounds like your guitar. With chrome Grover Rotomatics keeping things stable and a beautiful herringbone rosette for that classic aesthetic, this is a true collector's piece that is meant to be played every single day.
