Description

This is a deposit toward a Recording King BM70 Bluesmaster Natural, not a specific in-stock instrument. Photos are for reference only and represent the model, not the exact unit you will receive.

The Recording King BM70 Bluesmaster is a Standard Series 00 with a thermo-cured solid AA North American Sitka spruce top over solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, finished in a natural low gloss. Thermo-curing is a heat treatment applied to the wood, and the low gloss finish gives it a satin sheen instead of a polished one.

The Bluesmaster has a 24.8 inch scale, shorter than the 25.4 inch scale on Recording King's Standard dreadnought and OM, so string tension is lower. It also has a 1 3/4 inch bone nut and a bone saddle, a rosewood fingerboard with 5mm mother-of-pearl dot inlays, and a rectangular rosewood bridge with ebony pins. Satin nickel open-gear tuners sit on a black-veneered headstock with the RK-1 abalone logo, and a Firestripe pickguard protects the top. It ships with a brown gig bag.

We would point it at a blues or fingerstyle player who wants a small-body 00 with a thermo-cured top and a rosewood back, and who is fine with a gig bag in place of a hardshell case. It is acoustic only, so anyone who needs a pickup should look at a different model.
