Description
This is a deposit-only preorder for the next Taylor 314ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric we bring in — not a specific instrument currently in stock. The photos above are Taylor's own manufacturer photos of this model, not the exact guitar you will receive. Once your instrument arrives, our in-house tech completes the full 23-point inspection and Trent photographs your actual unit before it ships, and we'll confirm everything with you at that point.
The Next Generation 314ce carries Taylor's Grand Auditorium format into the 2026 refresh, pairing a solid Sitka spruce top with solid sapele back and sides under Scalloped V-Class Bracing with a Relief Rout — the newest evolution of the V-Class platform Taylor introduced across the line. Two tiers down, the 200 Series still runs C-Class bracing, an asymmetrical, cantilevered design built to pull extra bass out of a smaller body. The scalloped, relief-routed bracing in this 314ce carves additional wood out of the bracing struts where they meet the sides, letting the soundboard move with even less resistance than the original V-Class pattern. That translates to a wider dynamic range and more headroom before the top compresses — a meaningful step up from anything C-Class can deliver in this body size.
Played acoustically, the 314ce, Next Generation, leans toward a lively, articulate voice — the spruce top supplies clear top-end sparkle and quick note attack, while the sapele back and sides fill in a focused, controlled midrange similar to mahogany but with a touch more punch and projection. Flatpickers and fingerstyle players alike will notice how evenly the guitar responds across the strings; the relief-routed bracing keeps the wound bass strings from overpowering the trebles, so full chords stay balanced whether strummed hard on stage or picked softly in a living room.
The wider 1-3/4-inch nut and Standard Carve neck give this 314ce more room between strings than the Studio model, favoring fingerstyle players and anyone coming from a classical or vintage-spec neck. Black body binding, a faux pearl Weathervane inlay, and Taylor's new Action Control Neck — a long-tenon bolt-on joint with an internal adjustment bolt for setting action without pulling the neck — round out the 2026 platform upgrades. Electronics come from the new Claria Acoustic Pickup System, which adds onboard Volume, Mid-Contour, and tone controls at the soundhole for shaping the amplified sound without a floor pedal. Every 314ce, Next Generation, ships under our Dread-Not Guarantee — a 30-day in-home trial and a full year to trade it in for 90% credit toward anything else in the store, backed by a free humidity monitoring kit. This is the step-up 314ce for a player who wants the wider nut, updated neck, and Claria electronics of Taylor's Next Generation platform.
