Description
This 2025 Taylor 717e SB Gold Label pairs the deep-bodied Grand Pacific shape with a torrefied Sitka spruce top over solid Indian rosewood back and sides, voiced with Taylor's fanned V-Class bracing and Tonal Route. In Excellent Condition: this 717e has a small patch of sanding scratches on the upper back near the left shoulder that appear factory in origin, with no other dings or scratches. Torrefying the spruce drives out moisture and resin before the build, giving the top a broken-in voice from the first strum, and the extra body depth adds low-end push beyond what a standard Grand Pacific delivers.
Rosewood back and sides bring a wider overtone spread and more top-end sparkle than the mahogany-bodied Gold Label models, while the Tonal Route keeps that low end controlled so strummed chords stay full without turning boomy. Taylor's long-tenon Action Control Neck tightens the neck-to-body coupling for added resonance and lets players dial in string height through the soundhole without pulling the neck. The 25½" scale and 1¾" nut give the neck a substantial, vintage-leaning feel in the hand.
Cream binding, a cream pickguard, and Crest inlays dress the Sunburst top in classic Gold Label styling, while a Honduran rosewood Curve Wing bridge and Indian rosewood pins round out the build. Onboard LR Baggs Element VTC electronics keep that acoustic voice intact when plugged in, and the guitar ships in Taylor's British Cocoa hardshell case. For a player wanting deep, rosewood-driven low end with more shimmer on top than the mahogany 517e, the 717e SB covers that ground well.
