Description
This Bourgeois M5-F-CR is one of those mandolins that stops you mid-sentence the first time you open the case. The aged tone Adirondack spruce top brings a quick, dry response with loads of clarity, while the aged European maple back and sides add focus, projection, and that unmistakable chop players chase in an F-style. It has a powerful voice that still feels refined, with a strong fundamental and a smooth, singing top end.
The neck is carved from aged European maple and paired with an ebony fingerboard and bridge, giving this mandolin a fast, confident feel under the left hand. The 13 7/8 inch scale length keeps everything tight and responsive, and the bone nut helps deliver clean articulation across the strings. Waverly Golden Age tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch exactly the way you want on a professional-level instrument.
Finished in a deep Cordovan Red high gloss, this mandolin looks every bit as special as it sounds. The custom engraved Bill James tailpiece in satin nickel adds a tasteful, boutique touch without being flashy. This is a serious Bourgeois F-style that balances tradition, craftsmanship, and personality, and it comes housed in a Loar-style rectangular hardshell case ready for stage or studio.
