Description
The Bourgeois PSV-D-S brings Dana Bourgeois' craftsmanship to a traditional dreadnought, pairing a solid Sitka spruce top with solid Indian rosewood back and sides for a guitar built to command a room. It's aimed at players who want a rosewood dreadnought's power and low end without stepping up to Bourgeois' full custom-shop pricing.
The thin satin finish lets the top and back resonate fully from the first strum instead of needing years to open up, giving this dreadnought a seasoned, already-broken-in voice. Hand-voiced bracing keeps that openness balanced rather than boomy, so the rosewood's rich lows stay controlled under a hard strum and the highs stay sparkling rather than harsh.
Vintage touches carry the look through the details — ivoroid binding, a zipper backstrip, herringbone purfling, and abalone slotted square-and-diamond inlays on the ebony fingerboard, with a ziricote-veneered square headstock crowned by the pearl Bourgeois logo. Schaller vintage bean tuners hold tuning with smooth 18:1 precision, and it ships with a hardshell case.
