Description
The Eastman E1D pairs a solid Sitka spruce top with solid sapele back and sides in a full-size dreadnought, built as an entry point into Eastman's all-solid-wood instruments rather than a laminate beginner guitar. Sapele shares mahogany's warm, midrange-forward voice, similar to mahogany but with slightly added punch and a touch more brightness on top, giving the E1D a livelier response than a typical budget dreadnought.
Strummed hard, it has enough headroom and low-end weight to hold its own in a group setting, and it responds well to flatpicking and campfire strumming alike without sounding boxy the way many satin-finish dreadnoughts in this price range do. The mahogany neck's traditional even C profile and ebony fingerboard give it a playing feel closer to Eastman's higher-tier guitars than its price tag suggests.
A satin finish, tortoise binding, and open-gear PingWell tuners keep the build simple and durable, and it ships in a deluxe padded gig bag ready to play. For a first all-solid-wood dreadnought, or a reliable second guitar that won't get babied, the E1D delivers real tone without the fragility of an entry-level instrument.
