The Eastman E1OM pairs a solid Sitka spruce top with solid sapele back and sides in a 15-inch Orchestra Model body, built for players who want a brighter, more articulate alternative to a cedar-topped OM. Spruce needs a bit more attack to open up than cedar, but it rewards that effort with more headroom and a clearer top end that holds together under a harder strumming or flatpicking hand.

Sapele behaves similar to mahogany, but with a touch more sparkle in the highs, keeping the spruce's clarity from turning brittle. Hand-scalloped X-bracing and the OM's smaller body focus the low end so fingerstyle patterns and single-note runs come through clean rather than getting buried under the bass strings, a good match for flatpicking, travis picking, or accompanying vocals.

A mahogany neck carved to a traditional even "C" profile, an ebony fingerboard, and a 1 3/4-inch bone nut keep the 24.9-inch scale comfortable for long sessions, while the satin finish and tortoise binding give it a clean, unfussy look.
