Description
The Eastman MD505-CS pairs a solid spruce top, finished in a classic sunburst, with solid maple back and sides in a traditional A-style, f-hole body. That spruce-over-maple combination is the same foundation found on decades of bluegrass mandolins, delivering the crisp, articulate attack the style demands.
Maple back and sides push a bright, cutting midrange through the f-holes, so the MD505-CS holds its own on the chop against a full bluegrass band, and single notes stay defined even at speed. A 12-inch radius ebony fingerboard and 23 frets of Jescar wire keep fast runs comfortable, while the adjustable compensated ebony bridge and bone nut keep intonation locked in across the fretboard.
Ivoroid binding and pearl dot inlays give the MD505-CS a clean, traditional look that matches its classic sunburst finish, and nickel hardware with Pingwell tuners rounds out a dependable build.
