Description

The Eastman MD915 is one of those mandolins that feels dialed in the moment you pick it up. Built with a solid Adirondack spruce top and highly flamed maple back and sides, it leans into that classic F-style recipe that players expect for bluegrass and traditional styles. The vintage gloss finish, tortoise binding, and abalone flowerpot headstock inlay give it a refined, high-end look without feeling overdone.

It has a quick, punchy response that really suits ensemble playing. Adirondack spruce gives you a strong, immediate attack, while the maple body keeps everything tight and focused. Chords have a clean, percussive chop that sits well in a mix, and single notes come through with clarity and definition. There is enough projection here to hold its own in a jam, but it still keeps a nice balance across the strings.

The feel is comfortable and familiar for mandolin players. A 13 7/8 inch scale length, 1 3/32 inch nut width, and radiused ebony fingerboard make it easy to move around the neck. The adjustable compensated ebony bridge allows for precise setup, and Gotoh tuners keep things stable. With its solid build, classic tone, and clean aesthetic, the MD915 is a dependable F-style mandolin for players who want a traditional sound with modern consistency.
