Description
The Eastman PCH2-OM-CLA is an orchestra model with a solid thermo-cured Sitka spruce top and laminated rosewood back and sides, finished in Eastman's Classic color. The body is 15 inches across, and the scale length is 24.9 inches.
The 24.9 inch scale puts less tension on the strings than a 25.4 inch scale, so the strings are easier to fret. The okoume neck has a Traditional Even C profile, a 12 inch radius rosewood fingerboard, 20 frets and a 1 3/4 inch bone nut, which leaves room between strings for fingerpicking. Eastman thermo-cures the spruce top, a heat treatment that gives the wood a broken-in character. It comes with D'Addario XS coated strings and a padded Eastman gig bag.
It suits a player who wants a body smaller than a dreadnought, for fingerstyle or songwriting at the couch. Players who want the bigger body of a dreadnought should look at the PCH2-D-CLA, and this model has no pickup.
