The Martin DSS-16E brings a warm, vintage-inspired voice to the refreshed 16 Series in Martin's slope-shoulder Dreadnought body — now offered for the first time at a shorter 24.9-inch scale length for a more relaxed feel. This one wears a gloss spruce top in a rich Cherry Cola finish over satin mahogany back and sides.

That mahogany body gives it punchy midrange and strong treble response with a controlled, focused low end that sits well in a mix rather than overwhelming it. The slope-shoulder Dreadnought shape has always had a woody, intimate character, and the shorter scale here makes it an easier reach without losing any of that voice.

A grained ivoroid pickguard sets it apart visually, while a Select Hardwood neck with a Modified Low Oval profile, ebony fingerboard with 1955 Style 18 inlays, and nickel open-gear tuners keep it comfortable under the hands. Built-in L.R. Baggs Element electronics make it stage-ready, and it ships strung with Martin's new Era Legacy Edition strings in a softshell case.
