Description
The Martin J-16E carries serious volume and low-end punch into the refreshed 16 Series with a Jumbo body built for players who want a guitar that fills a room on its own. This one wears a gloss spruce top in a striking Black Smoke finish over satin East Indian rosewood back and sides, for deep bass and rich overtones with clear, articulate highs.
That Jumbo body is built for thunderous volume with sparkling top end — a natural fit for strummers and rhythm players who want serious stage presence. Scalloped X-bracing keeps the spruce top lively and dynamic under the hands rather than muddy, so it holds its clarity even when played hard.
A Select Hardwood neck in a Modified Low Oval profile, ebony fingerboard with Style 28 inlays, and nickel open-gear tuners round out a comfortable, stable playing experience, and built-in L.R. Baggs Element electronics mean it's plug-in-and-go for the stage. It ships strung with Martin's new Era Legacy Edition strings in a softshell case.
