The torrefaction process pre-ages the top at the cellular level, driving out moisture so the guitar opens up with the woody, broken-in warmth of an instrument years into its life instead of one fresh off the bench. Taylor's C-Class bracing reinforces that top with a lighter, more efficient brace pattern than older X-bracing designs, adding low-end depth and sustain without sacrificing the clarity the Grand Auditorium is known for.
