Torrefaction heat-treats the spruce before the top is ever built, driving out moisture and resin so the wood responds like a top that's already been played in for years rather than a fresh-cut board — and C-Class bracing opens up projection and low-end response without needing a more complex bracing pattern, so the rosewood tonal upgrade over the standard 214ce actually comes through instead of getting buried.

Indian rosewood brings a wider harmonic spread and more low-end depth than the sapele or walnut typically found lower in the 200 Series lineup, and C-Class bracing keeps that added complexity from turning boomy — the low end stays forward and articulate instead of blooming out of control.
