Description

The Next Generation 324ce takes the same Grand Auditorium body as its 314ce sibling and swaps the top wood for Neo-Tropical Mahogany, paired with solid sapele back and sides under Scalloped V-Class Bracing with a Relief Rout. Two tiers down, Taylor's 200 Series still relies on C-Class bracing, an asymmetrical, cantilevered pattern designed to squeeze extra bass out of a smaller-bodied guitar rather than let the top move freely. The relief-routed V-Class bracing in the 324ce frees the soundboard to flex evenly along its center while staying rigid at the edges, giving a mahogany-top guitar the volume, sustain, and note-to-note consistency that traditional X- or C-Class bracing can't match at this body size.

Where a spruce-topped 314ce leans bright and dynamic, the 324ce's mahogany top compresses that response into a warmer, more midrange-forward voice with a quicker note decay — the same character that's made mahogany a favorite for recording engineers and blues or fingerstyle players who want a guitar that sits forward in a mix without fighting for space. The solid sapele back and sides add just enough low-end weight to keep the sound from thinning out, so strummed chords stay full even though the top itself is more compressed than spruce. This is a tone built for touch-sensitive players who want articulation over raw volume.

The 324ce, Next Generation, wears its own finish identity: a shaded edgeburst top over the mahogany grain, black body and fingerboard binding, a Firestripe pickguard, and satin black hardware in place of the 314ce's nickel. The 1-3/4-inch nut, Standard Carve neck, and Action Control Neck — Taylor's long-tenon bolt-on joint with an internal action-adjustment bolt — match the rest of the Next Generation platform, and the Claria Acoustic Pickup System adds onboard Volume, Mid-Contour, and tone shaping at the soundhole. Every 324ce, Next Generation, ships under our Dread-Not Guarantee — a 30-day in-home trial and a full year to trade it in for 90% credit toward anything else in the store, backed by a free humidity monitoring kit. This is the mahogany-top option in Taylor's 300 Series Next Generation line, for players who want warmth and midrange focus over the 314ce's brighter spruce voice.
