Engelmann is lighter and less stiff than Sitka, and paired with solid Indian rosewood back and sides on a Grand Auditorium body with a Venetian cutaway, it gives the 914ce a wider dynamic range than the 810e or 855e without leaving the traditional X-Bracing voice behind.

That Engelmann top responds to a light touch in a way Sitka doesn't — fingerpicking and light flatpicking pull out more overtone shimmer and a quicker, more sensitive dynamic response, while Indian rosewood underneath still supplies the deep low end and harmonic complexity the Legacy line is built around.
