Description
This instrument is being sold under our Stage Ready designation due to cosmetic imperfections that do not affect its structural integrity, playability, or tone.
Patches of uneven finish around the soundhole. A small indentation on the top near the treble-side binding. A patch of uneven finish on the bass-side lower bout.
The Alvarez Yairi DYMRJP is a signature build made in partnership with JP Cormier, pairing a solid Adirondack spruce top with Honduran mahogany back and sides on a 12-fret slope-shoulder dreadnought body. Moving the neck joint back to the 12th fret shifts the bridge closer to the center of the lower bout, giving the top more room to move and pulling extra warmth and volume out of the same body size.
That combination leans toward a big, open low end with real midrange push, the kind of voice that holds up under hard flatpicking without losing definition on quieter fingerstyle passages. The cutaway trims nothing from that tone while opening up the upper frets, and the hand-carved FST6 bracing keeps the response quick instead of muddy.
Paua abalone purfling and an ebony fingerboard, bridge, and headstock facia dress it out, finished in a gloss sunburst that leans vintage rather than flashy. Gotoh 510 gold tuners with ebony buttons round out the hardware, and it ships in Alvarez's DC1 deluxe hardshell case. We set it up here before it ships, built for a player who wants a dreadnought with more reach up the neck without giving up the low-end power.
