Description
This instrument is being sold under our Stage Ready designation due to cosmetic imperfections that do not affect its structural integrity, playability, or tone.
Slight ding in the top.
The Boucher BG-42T-G pairs a torrefied Adirondack red spruce top with torrefied Brazilian mahogany back and sides on a dreadnought body, aiming for the mature, broken-in voice of a decades-old guitar right out of the case. Forward-shifted, hand-scalloped X-bracing lets that torrefied top move freely, giving it strong fundamentals and real headroom instead of the stiffness a brand-new top usually has.
The mahogany body keeps things warm through the midrange while holding a tight, articulate low end, the kind of balance that favors flatpicking and bluegrass rhythm work over softer fingerstyle. A squared belly-style bridge and extended bone saddle push more string energy into the top, so notes come through with more clarity and sustain under a hard right hand. The V-shaped neck profile leans vintage but stays comfortable through long sessions, and the extended 21-fret ebony fingerboard gives you the extra range.
Gold Pack appointments carry the look through: Gotoh 510 open-gear tuners, rosewood binding with black-white-black purfling, and mother-of-pearl fingerboard markers over the ebony board. We inspect and set up every Boucher before it leaves the shop, and this one comes home in a TKL Tweed Deluxe hardshell case, ready for a player who wants prewar dreadnought tone without waiting decades to get it.
