This 2012 Gibson J-185 EC brings everything you'd want from a maple jumbo—powerful projection, crisp note separation, and a gorgeous low-end thump that doesn't get muddy. It’s got the comfort contour neck and a shorter 24 3/4" scale, which makes it surprisingly easy to play for a big-bodied instrument. The Sitka spruce top has opened up beautifully over the years, and that maple back and sides give it the sparkle and snap that makes jumbos such strong rhythm guitars. There are a few tasteful upgrades from the previous owner: a lowered saddle for better action, rosewood bridge pins swapped in (originals included), and a strap button added for gigging. It’s also equipped with a Fishman Aura Pro system, so you’re stage-ready without any fuss. The custom-line tortoise pickguard and abalone rosette give it that extra visual pop, and the guitar ships in a solid hardshell case.
