(Used) 1988 OMI Model 37 All Maple Honeyburst Acoustic Dobro #188D
The 1988 OMI Model 37 captures the unmistakable Dobro voice that defined resonator tradition through much of the 20th century. Built with a laminated maple body finished in a warm honeyburst, it features slope-shouldered construction with classic f-holes and a single-cone spider bridge design that gives it projection and cutting clarity perfect for bluegrass, country, or slide playing. The maple neck is matched with a rosewood fingerboard inlaid with simple dots, while enclosed Grover-style tuners hold tuning reliably. Internally, the traditional soundwell construction with baffle channels directs tone through the body, giving it that unmistakable growl and sustain resonator players seek. The spider bridge with maple and ebony saddle inserts provides crisp articulation and balance across the strings. This example shows its age with dings on the top, heavy scratching on the back and sides, and areas of finish flaked along the binding marking it as Good Condition. Even with the cosmetic wear, the instrument is fully playable and delivers the powerful, punchy Dobro tone players expect. It comes as an excellent choice for anyone looking for vintage OMI sound and feel at a player’s price.
