This used 2007 Martin D-28CW Clarence White Signature Model is a rare opportunity to own one of Martin’s most iconic tributes to a bluegrass legend. Built with an Adirondack spruce top and East Indian rosewood back and sides, this dreadnought is loud, responsive, and nuanced—just like Clarence would’ve wanted. The forward-shifted, scalloped Adirondack bracing brings out all the power and dynamic range you’d expect from a pre-war-inspired dread, while the long saddle ebony bridge and 1 3/4" nut width make it a player’s dream whether you’re flatpicking leads or hammering rhythm. It’s clean and understated—no fingerboard inlays, just Clarence’s signature nestled between the 19th and 20th frets. Classic touches like fine herringbone trim, beveled tortoise pickguard, and Waverly tuners give it that vintage-correct look and feel, while the gloss nitro finish helps the tonewood breathe and open up. This is one of those guitars that sounds wide open and broken in, but still feels solid and stage-ready. If you’re a player who knows your history—or just looking for a powerhouse D-28 with tone and pedigree—this is it.
