The 2026 NAMM Model Martin D-12E Retro Road Series Spruce/Sapele Dreadnought delivers the classic power players expect from a Martin dreadnought, wrapped in a refined, vintage-inspired design. Built with a solid spruce top and solid sapele back and sides, this acoustic guitar produces the bold projection, deep bass, and clear articulation that make the dreadnought body a favorite for strummers, flatpickers, and performing singer-songwriters. Its full gloss finish and aging toner give it a timeless look while allowing the wood to resonate freely for a rich, open voice.

Tonally, the D-12E Retro balances clarity and warmth in a way that feels immediately familiar. The spruce top adds brightness, headroom, and dynamic response, while the sapele body contributes a focused midrange and controlled low end similar to mahogany, but with slightly added punch. Scalloped X-bracing enhances resonance and responsiveness, giving the guitar a lively feel whether it is played softly or driven hard.
