(Used) Gibson A5-G Master Model Spruce/Flamed Maple Mandolin #1029

Sale price$2,199.99

This Gibson A5-G Master Model is a hard-to-find gem with serious vintage mojo and pro-level tone. Built in Nashville and stamped with the iconic "Gibson Master Model" label, it’s a true representation of the golden-era Gibson mandolin craftsmanship—just in A-style form. The carved spruce top and flamed maple back and sides give it that dry, punchy chop and bright cut you expect from an F-hole mandolin, but with a little extra warmth and openness thanks to the A-style body. The figured maple neck has a comfortable rounded V profile that plays smooth all the way up, and the original open-gear tuners still hold solid. You get the original rectangular hardshell case, complete with the brass corner reinforcements and plush interior—just like you'd want for a collectible like this. Whether you're a player chasing that authentic Gibson tone or a collector looking to fill a hole with something rare and clean, this A5-G is ready to go.

*When reaching out to Bruce Webber about the dating of this mandolin, he said, "This one was finished in Nashville in '97. Was probably built in Montana and finished after the move."*
